Soft rooms (curtains, carpet, sofas) echo less than bare rooms. If you want the music in the final video, adding it in editing gives the cleanest sound, as long as you have the rights.

How do I stop echo when I record with music playing?
Short answerPlay the music through headphones, or turn the speaker down and move the phone away from it. Echo happens when the microphone picks up the speaker and the room.
