Can you record video on iPhone while music is playing?

Short answerYes, if the camera app lets other audio keep playing. Many apps pause your music when recording starts because they take over the phone’s audio. Start the music first, then record, and use an app that’s built to mix with other audio.

Whether the music also ends up inside the saved video depends on your iPhone, iOS version, the app and how you listen. Music in headphones usually isn’t recorded, because the microphone can’t hear it. Some streaming services restrict recording, and you need the rights to any music you publish.

Music Wide Selfie is designed so other apps keep playing while you record, with your voice recorded too; that combination has passed early testing.
