Live Photos use more storage. You can also turn Live off for a single photo later in Photos.

How do I stop my iPhone taking Live Photos?
Short answerTap the Live Photo icon in the Camera app so it’s crossed out. To keep it off, go to Settings › Camera › Preserve Settings and turn on Live Photo.
